Baby photography is often over looked as its such a busy time in a family’s life. Perhaps you have already captured your sweet little one as a newborn and feel that it was a wonderful moment too look back on. But that first year goes by in a blink of an eye and the changes are just surreal. Soon they are sitting and after a short period of time they are on the move. Crawling and walking, really keeping you on your toes.
Their little personalities really start to develop in their first year. It is just such a pure age to capture them without the realisation that a camera is pointing at them. The sitter age in a baby photography session can be a joyous happy occasion when compared to first birthday pictures.
A baby photography session is usually around 7-10 months of age, when they first learn to sit unaided. The reason being is that it adds far more of a variety to the session. Babies of this age also start showing a great deal of interest in the world around them. Exciting new toys and sounds can capture their attention for the session. This session is about capturing the details and expressions so easily forgotten as they grow up and have lost their baby appearance.
For the baby photography sessions, I request parents to bring along a teddy, blanket or toys of sentiment. It could be the items used during their newborn session or a keepsake from when they were born. I love taking images that are unique to each family. However, I do have toys and blankets in the studio that we can use to capture their attention.
